Packaging Design

REMO, INC. has always been a spirited company – they are the world’s leader in percussion instruments and accessories. Xeno was their agency of record for three years in the ’90s. During that time we worked closely with company’s marketing department and Remo Belli himself in designing advertising, new product/brand identities, updating old brand images, creative packaging solutions, catalogs and additional collateral.

Kellar Bass Systems • Xeno brought Brad Kellar’s radical Jam Bass to market in 3 months: logo, brand identity, product graphics, packaging, instruction manuals, advertising, collateral, trade show booth design/graphics and a public relations campaign. More information on the KBS Jam Bass product here.

Being graphic designers and music lovers naturally means we have ideas for cover graphics. In 2001 a friend suggested we do a compilation series called KEF – just for fun, exchanged only between friends, no sales involved. The series continued until 2013 when it was time to move on – twelve years and 130 compilations later. The experience was a pleasure and a great creative exercise.

Below, are the last 10 covers in the series ending with #130.

Apparently, though, this project isn’t finished. Our latest designs are in the image on the left – new Econo KEF packaging – making production as simple and easy as possible. Hey, a pure digital transfer would be easier still, wouldn’t it?

Friends like our graphics as well as our taste in music; they won’t let us quit. That’s OK, it’s all for fun.

DVDs may be passé at this point with almost all video coming to us via the web, but we’ve got a good portfolio of disc packaging… here are just a few.

Packaging design is extremely important in the packaged food and beverage industry. We were engaged by Langer Juice Co, Los Angeles for image development specific to their Planet Soda brand.
